Description

Matemera was one of the First Generation of Zimbabwean, African master sculptors. This large example displays the artist's characteristic rounded, facial features, fantastical body-shapes and exaggerated three finger hands and three toe feet. His work is many permanent collections including the National Gallery of Zimbabwe and the Museum fur V̦lkerkunde (Frankfurt). Note: Stone sculpture would require a base to sit straight.
