Description
Manufactured in Holland or possibly Germany, traded to the Dogon people of Mali, ca. 18th to early 19th century CE. A strand of approximately 150 disc-shaped glass trade beads, most deep blue, with a few amber-colored and clear. The Dutch traded beads of this style with the Dogon people in exchange for furs, raw materials, and slaves. Length of strand: 23.5" L (59.7 cm)
