Description
Kono Bairei (1844-1895) was a Japanese painter, book illustrator and art teacher. He was born and lived in Kyoto. He was a member of the Ukiyo-e school, and was a master of kacho-e bird and flower painting in the Meiji period of Japan.
Matsumura Keibun (1779-1843) was a leading Kyoto artist who had many talented pupils. He studied with his older brother Matsumura Goshun and also Maruyama Okyo. The paintings show all the spontaneity and brevity of a leading exponent of the shijo school and the subject matter is typical.
Imao Keinen was a Japanese painter and calligrapher born in Kyoto. He earned lasting fame for his beautiful bird and flower designs.
