Bronze figure of a man in 18th century Vienna clothes, holding a flower,by Josef Heu, circa 1930.Height of bronze:15", Width: 5".//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////(From Wiki):"Josef Heu (born February 21, 1876 in Marburg on the Drava , † October 30, 1952 in Ampleforth , District Ryedale in England) was an Austrian painter , sculptor and teacher. His first training was given by Josef Heu at the Grazer Gewerbeschule. From 1893 to 1898 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna . His teachers were the famous sculptors Edmund von Hellmer and Caspar von Zumbusch . The Rompreis, an Austrian state travel scholarship, enabled him to study in Italy for one year . There was his monumental work liberation of the source , which he exhibited in 1907 in the Hagenbund , of which he was a member from 1902 to 1912. The city of Vienna subsequently acquired the work and set it up in the city park . In 1903 hay created the groups of figures on theAttic of the House of Viennese Merchants on Schwarzenbergplatz .Josef Heu was already known in Vienna before the First World War by large sculptures in public space. During the war he worked as a war painter and sculptor in the kuk Kriegspressequartier . He was active in the Russian, Italian, Serbian and Albanian theater of war. In the years 1930-1934 he was president of the Austrian Society for Christian Art, since 1912 he was a member of the Cooperative of Fine Artists of Vienna . Many of his designs for monuments, fountains, statues and tombs in the classical style, he could no longer realize.As a professor, he had many students, including later become known such. B. Siegfried Charoux and Valerie Lorenz-Szabo . After the " Anschluss " in 1938, he was banned by the Nazis for his Jewish wife, his studio was confiscated and he had to flee Austria . In early 1939 he arrived in England , where he lived on orders for monasteries and churches. In 1946, his sculpture Rufer in der Wüste was one of the central exhibits in the great anti-fascist exhibition Never Forgotten in Vienna.
