Description
White puckered silk with a wildcat-inspired pattern of silver lamé, sleeveless with V-neck and back, small lapels, back closure with self buttons flanked by roundels of white feathers and stripped plumes, deep pleated peplum set in a V-shaped seam at the hip, trained fishtail hem set with pleats in a lower seam, tips of train having loops for hook at center back, Legion d'Honour ribbon. Label "Paquin Paris 3. Rue de la Paix.3" dated "Ete 1934". Helen catalogued gown as purchased in Paris from a Mrs. Gertner and having belonged to Yvette Guilbert, no further provenance found. B-36, W-32, H-38, L 60-88. (Feathers mostly broken, button loops frayed or torn) very good.
