Description
All having buttons for garters: One blue with clocks (stained heels and bottom of foot); one pink with clocks; one black with lace having white toe. Lot 151 at Christie's Auction July 11, 1967. Helen Larson called this auction the "Queen's Auction" due to so many objects with royal provenance in the sale. The ensemble was part of a larger group of objects cataloged as follows: "The majority of the following dresses were the property of the late Princess Marie Elizabeth of Wied of Schloss Monrepos, Neuwied (b. 1880); many earlier dresses belonged to her grandmother, Princess Louise of Prussia". Good-excellent. Together with a mismatched pair of gold lame stockings, 1920s, in poor condition-not photographed.
