Description
White cotton having an empire bodice of embroidered net with short, puffed mull sleeve, net trim and back with drawstring ties and net inserts, slightly trained skirt covered in satin-stitch embroidered sprigs and dotted devices with single side opening, wide tuck above hem, tag: "Grace Fletcher Webster". She was wife of Daniel Webster, born 1781. Note: Larson acquisition card states Grace Webster gown was acquired from the Daniel Webster family estate, purchased from Georgia Bly along with note "Worn by Grace Fletcher Webster". B-26, L 46-49. (Large hole and several tears in hem area, scattered smaller holes and mends in upper skirt) fair.
