A majestic bird's-eye view of Loja (Loxa) a 1100 year old city nestled between rolling hills of Southern Spain. The Alcazaba Moorish fortress and churches are prominently rendered. In the foreground the artist Georg Hoefnagle (working for Braun & Hogenberg) and his traveling companion are identified on the view and shown being on the road to the city. Latin text on verso.
