Very large single plank mahogany bas relief, professionally carved with a detailed montage of 'modern' advances of humanity, including (from L to R): Woman with Butterstamp Telephone, sitting next to a Phonograph; Farmhouse with arched stone bridge in mountains behind, a Hot Air Balloon and a Zeppelin; a Four-Stack Ocean Liner approaching a light beacon; a Train crossing a Viaduct from a Tunnel; a Man on a Bicycle; a Fortress; an Early Automobile with a couple at a well; a curving road through a dark wood with Arc Lighting and Telegraph Poles. 90 1/2" wide (8'-0 1/2"), 35" tall at left, 19 1/2" tall at right.
