Description
Pre-Columbia, Peru, central coast, Chancay, ca. 1000 to 1300 CE. Nicely preserved sewing or weaver's basket of woven reed, filled with original sewing implements. Includes weaving sticks -several with wound threads of yarn/thread, three with pottery spindle whorls - and other wooden tools. In addition, there are three examples of a Chancay weaver's handiwork inside. A wonderful weaver's basket of tools and materials used to create ancient textiles - as well as a few woven textiles! Size: 6" L x 13" W x 3" H (15.2 cm x 33 cm x 7.6 cm)
