Description

18k ruby armrest w/ gold inlaid steel, c.1900. 17" x 6".Meant to go under the arm as a ruler sits on a throne, this magnificent staff and weapon is probably Mughal, circa 18th/19th century.The rock crystal is carved into two bird heads with 18k gold and ruby eyes drilled into the heads of the bird.The shaft is 22k gold inlaid into steel, and the end unscrews to reveal a hidden knife.Extremely rare.Probably belonged to a ruler or high official in India or one of the Turkish rulers during the Ottoman Empire.The display stand is modern.
