First octavo collected edition, with the second edition of Spring (dated 1831), the third edition of Summer (1830), second edition of Autumn (1830), the first of Winter (1830), and the third of Britannia (1830).
Thomson's masterpiece, and perhaps the most popular English-language poem in blank verse.
James Thomson was a British poet and playwright, known for his poems The Seasons and The Castle of Indolence, and for the lyrics of "Rule, Britannia!" Foxon, who notes that his records of collected editions of Thomson's Seasons is incomplete, does not adequately describe this. NCBEL II, 528.
