A rare collection of 26 works of fiction by contemporary French women authors, with a 12-page introduction by Rose de Birnarr. The novella by George Sand, Une Vieille Histoire, the first work in the collection, is one of her earliest appearances in print. Other authors included are Jenny Bastide and Madame Cottin.
