1873 1st ed Wonders of MOON Guillemin Astronomy Science Illustrated Meteorology
Amédée Guillemin was a 19th-century French scientist known for his books on astronomy which were very popular. Many of his books, particularly those pertaining to the sky and space, were known to be the source of inspiration for many of Jules Verne’s works. ‘La Lune,’ or ‘The Moon,’ is a rare treatise that covers the physical aspects of the moon, the appearance of the moon to the naked eye, use of a telescope and viewing the moon, meteorology and the moon, motion and movement of the moon, and how the moon influences the Earth.
This rare first English edition was translated out of the original French by M.G. Mead and is illustrated throughout with 44 engravings.
