Sir Samuel Egerton Brydges, was an English Bibliographer and genealogist. He was an important figurehead in English literature and a member of British Parliament. He was a founding member of the Roxburghe Club, a publishing club of wealthy bibliophiles.

This first edition of “The Topographer” provides an overview of English history and antiquities. This lovely four-volume set has 51 engravings depicting scenery from England, churches and other antiquities such as:
