Item Details

Description

A Boston & Maine Railroad agent ort corporate writing station. The construction is hardwood with two grooves for fountain pens and 2 wells. The wells have a beautiful cut glass ink well with B&M cut in nice lettering. This ink well was free blown (no mold) and has a Bakelite insert and a small chip on the fixed insert. The other well has a glass bowl used with a damp sponge to affix stamps to letters. The wooden base is heavy for its size and measures 10 1/2" by 6 1/2". The ink well measures 3" in diameter and 2 1/2" tall. The ink well has some scratches but it is certainly a unique item. It's the only thing like it I have ever seen.
