Description
Early-Mid 19th-century French Transitional Gothic-Renaissance 3 piece clock set in gilt bronze. Quatrefoil feet support the pierce carved base with a regal shield bearing lions flanking the clock face with porcelain numerals. Likely commissioned by French Nobility. Stylistic details includes: Focal central mounted crown, lions, shields. The clock is flanked by a pair of standing lions with shields in hands, satyr mask on the center base supporting 9 arm candelabra. The clock features a French porcelain face signed under the 12 o'clock hour marker "Masquelier a Lille" and a French Mechanism marked on the inside "C. Cellier a Paris 1155". Candelabras measure 30" tall and about 15" deep at the deepest. Clock measures 27" tall, 17.5" wide and 9.75" deep
