Absolutely stunning and finely crafted Chinese Qing Dynasty (1644–1911) Imperial Court silk robe embroidered throughout with Kesi silk and metal gold wire thread to depict dragons flying amongst lingzhi form clouds, over a vivid golden yellow ground. Scattered among the dragons are variants of the Chinese character shou (longevity) and fu (discernment) and axe heads (denotes the Emperor's ability to act decisively). Bottom portion with crashing waves against mountains with fish and floating gourd vessels. Preserved in a gold painted wooden frame behind acrylic screen. Robe measures approx. 59" tall x 44" at widest. Overall with frame approx. 71" tall x 55 1/2" wide.
