Sitton, John Melza (American, born 1907), Tropical Art Deco Fantasy, 1933, oil on canvas, 48 x 96 inches, signed lower left, framed in an attractive gilded wood frame measuring 53 x 101 inches, Provenance: Boca Raton Museum of Art, Sitton was a New Deal WPA Artist, Born January 9, 1907 in Forsyth, GA. He painted a six-panel mural in Clifton, NJ entitled “Transportation”, oil on canvas, installed in 1938 under the Section funding. Another one of his murals is currently installed in the Board Room, Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, GA.
