Southern Europe, Italy, mid-late XVI Century. Cuisse-plates with upper, hinged lames decorated with roped border, ribbed poleyns ending at the outer side with butterfly-shaped fan plates and upper and lower, articulated knee-plates, the lower, ending with roped border; the pair, with later, etched ornaments. An interesting and quite rare, homogeneous group; very fine condition, the outer face, cleaned, the inside, still retaining ancient rust/patina and remains of the original, leather fitting.
