Description
As found in the family residence, the owner's child remembers going to Kentucky some 60 years ago to pick up this Jackson Press. He does not remember the area as he was a small child. Standing 88 1/2" tall, 50" wide by 13" deep on the top section, 8 original panes of glass per door, 2 drawers over the doors, unusual carved and turned half columns on the glass door section and matching base, turned feet, 21" overall depth on the base, old refinished surface. Cherry case with Mahogany trim formerly around glass doors, turned designs at the top of the base section. The square area at the base of the columns has a symetrical design of half circles carved into the flat surface, something not seen in Tennessee. The Press is structurally sound, cosmetically could use a light cleaning and waxing. Easily 1830-1845.
Condition
Could use a light cleaning to the surface with waxing, slight hinge area damage, original glasses in the doors, old refinished surface many years ago.
