Description
First half 19th century, cherry with walnut and pine secondary. Two pieces, top with shallow cove molding, half pilasters and two panel doors, base with paneled ends, turned legs, half pilasters, two dovetailed drawers over two single-panel doors. Old refinishing with wear and scratches. Tennessee or Kentucky. 82.75"h. 40.5"w. 20"d.
Condition
Not a marriage, pilasters match. Feet are original but not an extension of the stiles.
Overall surface wear and scratches, as well as some edge nicks, the worst being the gouge in the right top pilaster. Most of the wear and scratches are on the "shelf" or top of the base where the top has been moved on and off.
Long vertical age split in bottom left side, bottom door pull broken off (missing), replaced bottom hinges. Bottom right side has old paint scuffs and horizontal age split. Some edge loss to crest and a dent in the front. Shrinkage to top right side at front corner.
