Description
A Roman gold ring with a carnelian ring stone with clasped right hands, c. 1st - 2nd Century AD, the 'Dextrum Iunctio' which is a symbol of betrothal or marriage, the gold foil ring with wide flat shank and oval bezel, the stone with good translucent orange color. Ring measures 17 x 12 mm, ring stone is 8 x 6.5 cm. Ex Toronto private collection.
