Description
An Egyptian New Kingdom bicolor faience ushabti, Ramesside, Dynasty XIX, c. 1279 - 1193 BC, most likely from Memphis, depicted mummiform, wearing side-lock and broad collar, arms folded at chest and holding a pick and hoe, vertical column of hieroglyphic text down the front of the legs. H: 5 1/8 in. (13 cm). Well-preserved with beautiful style and detail, the white glaze and black detail contrasting nicely. Ex New York private collection.
