Complete in two volumes. With three hundred and twenty illustrations, carefully engraved from the author's original paintings. John Grant, Edinburgh. 1926. Hardcover. 6 1/2 x 10 inches. ix, 1 list of plates, 298; vii, 303 including appendices. . 4-panel fold-out map in color facing page 1 in volume I, single-page color map in volume II. All plates present. In publisher's original red cloth binding, with plastic protectors. In both volumes front endpaper has "Harry Johnson" in ink and bookplate of Herbert D. Ryman, "Property of Chester Hale" on half-title page, Ryman embossed library seal on title pages, and also on a handful of the plates, some affecting the image.
