BOOKS: (4) Vols Japanese Puppetry Bunraku, 4 volumes including 2 editions of Masterpieces of Japanese Puppetry from Tuttle Publishing, 1958 Limited Edition, number 80/375 and the trade edition, both in original cardboard cases. Miyajima, Theatre Japonais de Poupees, 3rd edition, 1931 SIGNED and inscribed by the author. Bunraku The Art of the Japanese Puppet Theatre, with text by Keene and Photographs by Hiroshi, Kndansha 1965, in original case.

Notes/Literature: Huguette Marcelle Clark (1906-2011) was an heiress and philanthropist, who became well known again late in life as a recluse, living in a hospital for more than 20 years while her mansions remained empty. She was an accomplished artist and musician, having studied under famous portrait painter Tadeusz Styka, and her paintings were exhibited at the Corcoran Gallery, Washington in 1925.

Good/fair, Miyajima in torn glassine and cover worn with tears at top of spine, age spotting on endpapers, be advised that all lots in this sale will exhibit some degree of wear due to age and/or handling
