Pre-Columbian, Mexico - Guatemala, ca. 1000-800 B.C. Finely polished ritual stone piercer - probably used for piercing ears and possibly tongues. Lovely polished brown hard-stone with knobbed handle and perforated working end. A fascinating implement! 4-3/4" L. Custom stand included. Ex. Artemis Gallery, Ex-Private Chicago Collection, acquired before 1970.
