1924 RUSSIAN PEASANT LOAN PROPAGANDA POSTER.

The peasantry had shown little interest in entrusting its savings to State-owned banks, so the State designed a special product for this segment of the Soviet population. Loan proceeds were earmarked for various initiatives aimed at strengthening agriculture; peasant subscribers were offered preferential rates, and, unlike the general public, were allowed to cash in the bonds early - provided that the returns would be used to pay the prodnalog tax.
