Description
**First Time At Auction**
Pre-Columbian, Peru, Chancay and Huari (Wari) cultures, ca. 500 to 1500 CE. A group of four earthtone textile fragments, comprised of tightly-woven camelid fibers, in hues of red, green, gold, orange, white, blue, and black. Three of the four fragments, Huari in origin, have a plethora of colors comprising a series of abstract geometric, linear, and zigzag designs, and each has at least a small exterior border of tight fibers. The fourth textile strip, originating from the Chancay people, has two red borders which enclose five abstract zoomorphic figures, either canine or jaguar in form. A wonderful ensemble for anyone passionate about ancient textiles! Size: 10" L (25.4 cm).

Condition
All pieces are fragments of larger textile items, and have fraying around peripheries, loosening to exterior and interior fibers, fading and discoloration to colored details, and some creasing.
