CHARLES ELLIS (AMERICAN, 1922-2004) ORIGINAL ILLUSTRATION, oil on board, en grisaille, a tense, dramatic scene on a Western ranch, featuring two intimidating male figures cornering a young lady holding a riding crop by the cattle pens, signed lower right, "Whatman Drawing Board" manufacturer's printed mark verso. Unframed. Circa 1955. 13 1/4" x 20 1/2" sight, 16 3/4" x 23 1/2" OA.
Very good overall condition with minor abrasions and areas of discoloration. Small scattered surface losses at center with associated minor inpainting.
