1769 Latin Aesop Fables Mythology Classic Greek Folklore Jesuit Desbillons
“A doubtful friend is worse than a certain enemy. Let a man be one thing or the other, and we then know how to meet him.”
― Aesop, Fables
A fine, highly desirable Desbillon edition of Aesop’s Fables. Aesop’s fables have been printed for centuries and include some of the most famous fables and tales of all time. Originating sometime in the 6th- to 7th-century BC, these tales have appeared in popular culture for well over 2000 years in the form of books, plays, songs, and visual media.
Francois-Joseph Desbillons was a French Jesuit author and fabulist writing both in French and it Latin.
