E.N. Welch Wall Hanging Gale Drop Calendar Clock Parliament Model No. 2. Large 12 in. paper dial has an outer chapter ring with 31 date calendar using a red indicator with crescent counterbalance, sub-dials for time with pierced spade hour & minute hands, 29 day moon phase with blued indicator, 12 month calendar with New England latitude sunrise and sunset times with red indicator and days of the week dial with blued indicator. Pierced brass spring driven movement, count wheel hour strike mechanism with coiled gong, signed E.N. Welch, Forestville, CT, USA; with calendar mechanism model 2, patented 1887. In a rosewood case with grain painted bezel, rosewood drop section has an original reverse painted and gilt decorated lower door glass in good condition, original finish, original paper dial has some staining, in good overall condition, running and has winding key. 30.5 in. high x 17 in. wide x 5 in. deep. Weight: 11.5 lbs.
