Chang together with the edition numbers 86/125 written in pencil, the embossed publisher's seal and various printer's seals. Artist Zhang Daqian probably created this print from memories of his birthplace, Sichuan province, famous for its deep mountains. The backdrop is filled with dense forests and layered mossy rocks, recalling Sichuan jungles. A playful gibbon kicks an old tree with its right leg. In China the gibbon is believed to be affectionate, undemanding, and companionable.
