**Originally Listed At $150**

West Africa, Cameroon, Bana Guili peoples (Kirdi), ca. 20th century CE. A beaded dibul kouana, an apron made of thousands of heavy glass beads and thick cotton thread, with approximately thirty cowrie shells dangling from its lower edge. This is a woman's garment, worn around the waist during initiations, weddings, and other ceremonies. The newly-independent government of Cameroon banned these items in 1961, although they continue to be worn in more remote areas. Size (excluding the ties): 18.85" W x 8.5" H (47.9 cm x 21.6 cm)
