Born in 1957 and raised in a family of silversmiths. McKee Platero jewelry has gained worldwide fame for its amazing designs and the brilliant mastery of working silver into incredible works of wearable art. Platero’s jewelry harnesses his ancestor’s traditional imagery, yet appears contemporary at the same time. His hand stamping is unique in that it is always a little deeper than most. McKee Platero still uses the traditional method of hand hammering silver. His designs express the spirituality of the Navajo people in a modern contemporary form.
