Description
In the middle of the Sepik area of Papua New Guinea people adorn the skulls of deceased relatives, important people or enemies to use them for fertility or initiation rites. The skulls are processed with clay, lime and oil, and decorated with small shells, fibers and the original human hair of this person.
The base is now a coconut that is formed in a human head. The real skulls used to be used here, but this has long been prohibited by law in Papua New Guinea.
The skull is shaped with clay, which explains the relatively high weight of the object, adorns with pigments, covered with curved ornaments in white paint, the eyes inlaid with kauri shells and two rows on the forehead, hair is made of real human hair. Sold without stand.
