Description
**First Time At Auction**

Ancient Egypt, New Kingdom to Third Intermediate Period, 18th Dynasty to 25th Dynasty, ca. 1549 to 653 BCE. A steatite scarab glazed with a dark blue faience, with the underside inscribed with Amon-Ra, an ankh, and a royal figure wearing the lower crown of Egypt. The body is pierced laterally and was made to be worn as a protective amulet. Size: 0.45" W (1.1 cm)

Provenance: ex Hank Johnson collection, Denver, Colorado, USA; ex HD-Enterprise, Denver, Colorado, USA, acquired from the estate of Philip Mitry, Cairo, Egypt, collected in the 1950s
