After Jacques Barraband, 3 plates: Toucans No. 11, 14, 16, (L'Aracari a double ceintre ++ L'Aracari Koulik femelle ++ L'Aracari Verd male) from "History of the Birds of Paradise" by Francois Levaillant, 1801-06, printed in color on wove paper. Toucans 14 and 16 measure 14.5" x 21.5". Toucan 11 has been trimmed unevenly: the top edge is 14.25" whilst the bottom edge is 14.5".

Condition: The plates have been trimmed to some extent: not all the plate marks are present. Holes present after disbinding have been professionally covered. There is chipping and soiling to the perimeters of the three plates and creases to the top right corner of Toucan 11. Some spots of foxing to 14 and 16. All three have had their Latinn names added in pencil under the French name. Nonetheless, three striking prints by a master ornithological illustrator.
