American, late 19th century. A J. & E. Stevens cast iron mechanical bank of two frogs, marked ENG PAT JULY 28, 1882 / US PAT AUG 8 1882 on underside. Place coin on leg of small frog, press lever behind large frog, and the leg swings up to toss the coin into the large frog's open mouth; ht. 4.25, wd. 8.25, dp. 3.25 in.

Condition

Small frog's leg replaced. Spots of paint loss and dirt.
