Fine Chinese Ming Yellow and Red Square Plant Pot, thick potted in a square body, with banded rim, gently tapered to the narrowed flat base. Decorated in hand-painting of vigorous imperial five-claw dragon fiercely borne amidst flame and clouds over a wavy LiShui waters. All reserved over ox-blood red underglazed ground. Banded on the rim with scrolling foliate motif. The base is unglazed, revealed the pale-creme unglazed ground with burnt orange and darker spots in the firing.
Mark on rim, a six blue script -KaiShu- characters reign mark, JiaJing Reign Period of Great Ming.
