English, early 18th century. Very fine William and Mary japanned and brass strap work mounted collector's cabinet, decorated all over with raised chinoiserie motif and in two parts, the upper part with a pair of doors enclosing six vertically stacked drawers, two open shelves and a locking door with single shelf, the base with a pair of doors opening to an interior with two shelves, raised on a beefy turned bun feet. The sides on upper and lower case mounted with heavy bail handles. Approximate height 68.37", width 46.8", depth 19.25". Provenance: Property from the Estate of a Gentleman in Macon, Georgia.

Wear commensurate with age and usage. Shrinkage cracking to all doors and drawers. Scattered small chips and losses to japanning and wood overall. Craquelure, lifting, to finish. Has been re-varnished. Several drawer bases have been replaced, with later fitted compartment to one drawers. Moisture damage overall. Doors stick. Splits to bun beet. Supports added to reverse, but are removable. No further signs of loss, damage, or repair. Would benefit from professional restoration.
