CHINA, CIRCA 1820 A Chinese export green Fitzhugh porcelain armorial plate. The plate is decorated with the crest of the Rawson family with motto "LAUS VIRTUTIS ACTIO" within a traditional butterfly and floral Fitzhugh pattern. Literature: David Sanctuary Howard, "Chinese Armorial Porcelain", Vol.I, p. 976, U8, where the author notes that "The service is the only one with British arms known with a Fitzhugh pattern in green enamel."
