**First Time At Auction**
North America, Native American, US Southwest, New Mexico, Santa Clara Pueblo, ca. 20th century CE. A gorgeous pair of signed redware pottery vessels, one being much shorter than its counterpart. Both vessels have a lustrous russet-hued exterior finish and cream-colored recessed areas, and each depicts an image of the serpent deity Avanyu (Awanyu) with an arrow-shaped tongue. The larger vessel has "Mary SCP" etched into the base, and the smaller displays "Veronica Santa Clara Pueblo." Size (smaller): 1.7" H (4.3 cm); size (larger): 3.125" H (7.9 cm).

Condition
Both vessels are intact and excellent with lovely russet-hued exterior coloration. Signatures etched into the underside of each vessel, one reading "Mary SCP" and the other "Veronica Santa Clara Pueblo."
