Superb Tlatilco Pottery Standing Pretty Lady

Item Details

Description

Pre-Columbian, Valley of Mexico, Tlatilco, ca. 1200 to 800 BCE. A graceful and finely-crafted 'pretty lady' from this very early Pre-Columbian culture. Clearly a fertility idol with ample hips indicative of child-bearing, attenuated arms, small perky breasts, and a slender waist. Her face is elongated with slanted slit eyes, round earspools, a curved brow line, and an incised coiffure with an accompanying ponytail cascading down her back. Meticulously-detailed and colored in deep-red and light-orange hues, this is a gorgeous example of Tlatilco figural pottery! Come with custom museum-quality stand. Size: 3.5" H (8.9 cm); 3.75" H (9.5 cm) on included custom stand.
