Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 2nd century CE. A finely-detailed redware terracotta applique depicting the quintessential actor's mask with long parted hair, round eyes, a petite nose, and an exaggerated open mouth designed to loudly project the actor's voice. Custom lucite stand included. Size: 3.25" H (8.3 cm); 3.375" H (8.6 cm) on included custom stand.

Provenance: private Orange County, California, USA collection, acquired before 2000
