Ancient Near East, Holy Land, Middle Bronze Age I-II, ca. 2200 to 1750 BCE. A group of four open-face terracotta oil lamps with pinched spouts. The largest lamp has a flat base, four wide spout ends, and a deep basin cavity. The two medium-sized lamps have a single pinched spout with rounded but stable bases. The smallest lamp, with a flat circular base, has a single spout that has been closed off around the neck which forms a more-traditional upturned 'spout' end. A wonderful ensemble for any collection! Size: 6.75" W (17.1 cm).

All lamps have age-commensurate surface wear, minor chips and losses to spout ends and peripheries, mineral deposits, and root marks. The three largest lamps have char marks around the wick spouts. Outer rim of third-largest lamp has been repaired from several pieces.
