Description
Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A free-blown sprinkler vessel comprised of translucent blue-green glass, of a rounded body with swirling diagonal ribbing, tubular neck, a pinched mouth, and a wide flared rim. Sprinkler vases, with their tooled construction rings at the base of the neck, were used to sprinkle precious rose water or perfumes. Beyond its graceful form, gorgeous color, and skillful technique, a stunning layer of fiery rainbow iridescence entices the eye! Size: 3.5" H (8.9 cm).
