This is the Bibliotheque de la Pleiade/Editions Gallimard two volume (1297 & 1686 pages) "Oeuvres" de Sainte-Beuve, published in 1966 (vol. 1) and 1960 (vol. 2). Each is in its original simple cardboard slipcase, both of which are in good condition. The clear plastic covers are scuffed but in good overall condition. The paper jackets, with open spine areas , have light border sunning and minimal edge wear, but no notable stains or tears. The lettering and art are unfaded. The simulated leather covers, green backgrounds with gold lettering and design, are clean and bright, with no color loss, no stains, and no tears. The insides are clean throughout, with a very few creases, no tears, no stains, no stamps or other attachments. I've found no writing or notations. The bindings are tight, with no loose or missing pages. The blue-toned top edges are slightly faded, but clean and with no notable flaws. This set has apparently been in storage, and has a consequent mustiness. There is no indication of mold or like flaws. I'm airing it out, but it will, in all likelihood, still have some mustiness to it on receipt. Anyone who is bothered by such smells should think twice before bidding. The accompanying photos are of this set.
