Custer, Elizabeth B. TENTING ON THE PLAINS OR GENERAL CUSTER IN KANSAS AND TEXAS. New York: Charles L. Webster & Company, 1887. 8vo, printed brown cloth, beveled boards, gilt spine lettering and highlights, printed endpapers, 702pp. Some shelfwear and minor toning. After his death, Custer's wife, Libby, became his staunchest supporter and protector of his historical reputation. This is the second of three books published by Libby, and focused on the period between the Civil War and the Indian Wars that finally ended his life.
