Description
Meissen 'Deutsche Blumen' pattern standish, late 19th C, rocaille-form with a partial gilt, rose and green enameled intermittent floral sprays, with a Meissen sander and ink well, modeled young kneeling clowns with removable head covers; together with a floral decorated partial gilt and Rose du Barry mounted enameled brass blotter, the standish 14" long, blotter not original to actual set, handle is loose; the inkwell: collar on head broken (we have the piece), collar restored at bottom, edges of book restored, foot has been restored; the sander: whole right side of collar restored, small area of restoration to rear foot, miniscule chip to little finger; the stand: left side on one of holders rim has been broken and restored, tiny chip to one of the rocaille decoration on base
